Gay Christian Identity – Joe Dallas

Gay Christian Identity – Joe Dallas

Joe Dallas equips listeners with the basic tools and concepts necessary for a Christ-like response to the Gay Christian identity.  Joe brings us in for a transparent look at his journey from the downward spiral into sexual promiscuity to promoting the Gay Christian identity and finally to landing on the solid ground of his identity in Christ.

During Joe’s journey, The Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches was one of the first organizations that claimed both a Christian base and a pro-gay base and where he heard the pro-gay interpretation of scripture for the first time.  He was confronted with men and women of all ages and all types who identified as Gay Christians.  If you haven’t already, you will meet someone who says “I love Jesus, I have been born again, I believe the Bible is the word of God and I’m openly gay or I’m openly lesbian and God is fine with my lifestyle”.  Joe’s in-depth teaching will better equip you to dialogue with people holding this position.

Joe begins with these terms and concepts to help us better understand and follow along with his discussion:

Gay Christian Identify – Terms and Concepts

  • Saved – born again and positioned in Christ
  • Gay – orientation, identity or behavior
    • “Gay is not as simplistic as a term as we might think it to be because it can refer either to an orientation or an identity or a behavior or a combination of all 3.”
  • Orientation – result of the sin nature – not a choice
  • Identity – alignment with a sinful tendency – is a choice
  • Behavior – erotic connection with same sex – is a choice

Five Point Progression

  1. Discovery – deep feelings others don’t have
  2. Conflict – lasts for a season “I didn’t ask to be gay”
  3. Resolution Attempt – tried everything, “it” doesn’t work
  4. Revision – to accommodate the temptation
  5. Gay Christian Identity – adoption / embracing

Many people believe that if you are born again you will no longer have same sex attractions and desires.  They often refer to the apostle Paul stating that “if any man is in Christ he is a new creation old things are passed away and all things become new” (2 Cor 5:17).  While we do become new creations, the Bible also states that we will experience a struggle between the flesh and the spirit.

Joe puts it this way, “When someone tells me well I tried to pray the gay away and it didn’t happen. I would say who on Earth told you that was going to happen?  All of us have sinful desires of the flesh sometimes we are completely relieved of those desires at other times we are allowed to still wrestle those desires. As time goes on they may diminish and other times they stay and at all times we are still told to crucify the flesh walk in the spirit and not live under the power of any particular sin.”

Joe’s teaching ends on a powerful note from Dr. Paul Morris who says, “but if I were a homosexual Christian this one question would bother me, am I interpreting scripture in the light of my proclivity or should I be interpreting my proclivity in the light of scripture?”

Ex-Lesbian’s Heartfelt Plea to Pastors Across the Country

Ex-Lesbian’s Heartfelt Plea to Pastors Across the Country

Dear Pastors,

There are things I urgently need for you to know. And there are things I desperately need you to tell me. I shudder to think where I’d be today if my pastor had not been bold enough to tell me the truth regarding homosexuality, a lifestyle in which I lived for more than 30 years. Pastors, please take time out of your busy schedule to read my humble plea.

First, I need you to tell me in no uncertain terms that homosexuality is a sin. Show me what the Bible says and tell me that the Word of God is eternal and does not change with the times. Please don’t tell me that you won’t address it or that you don’t have an opinion. Because if you don’t speak up, I am going to think that it’s all right and will be headed for an eternity in hell. Pastors, when I come to you seeking answers, I need you to boldly speak the truth in love. My very salvation depends upon it.

Next, please let me know that Jesus’ death on the cross was enough to cover any sin I have committed, including that of homosexuality. Please tell me that every sin, no matter how minor or major it seems, is an affront to God. If you don’t, I will feel like my sin, because it feels more embarrassing or shocking, is harder for God to forgive than the others and I will be left with the wrong impression that homosexuality is the unpardonable sin. It’s not.

And last, I need you to tell me to repent. Please tell me that true Christianity calls for genuine repentance of all sin, including homosexuality. And pastors, if I try to make excuses to live in my sin, stand firm because my eternal destiny hinges on it. And then, and this is so very important, tell me that God’s power, mercy and grace are more than enough for me to live in absolute freedom. If you don’t, I will think that homosexuality is the only sin for which God’s power isn’t enough. It is.

When I was looking for truth and answers, I walked into a church, just like yours, for the first time in years. I started attending regularly and started feeling the conviction of the Holy Spirit in my heart as I learned what it meant to be a follower of Christ.

I mustered up the courage to speak with my pastor and share that I was homosexual, thinking it was an unchangeable fact. When I walked out of my pastor’s office, I had received the unchangeable truth: Homosexuality is a sin. God hates all sin. God loves me. Jesus died for me. I needed to repent from all sin. The cross was enough to forgive me of all sin. God’s power delivers me from all sin. Jesus is enough, even for those who struggle with homosexuality.

Pastors, speaking truth no matter how difficult, does not have to end with people running for the exits. I am living proof! I have completely renounced the homosexual lifestyle, am a devoted follower of Christ and live in truth, victory and freedom every day of my life!

I will forever be grateful to my pastor for holding to the truth of God’s Word, and pastors, I pray that your congregants will be the same.

With all gratefulness, humility and sincerity,

Linda Italiano, ex-lesbian and born-again Christian | https://lindaitaliano.wordpress.com/

Hiding in the Church Closet

Hiding in the Church Closet

Do you struggle with same-sex attraction and are you afraid to reach out and tell someone?  You are Not ALONE.  There are many dealing with this struggle who are not sure where to turn.

This is the story of one man’s pain of hiding in the shadows with his struggle and confusion about his sexuality. He is pleading for an open and honest conversation especially in the church where many are silent.

He reveals his fear, confusion and depression over the anticipated responses from the church, his friends and family. As some in the church are completely silent while others condemn him to hell but don’t offer any help to overcome the struggle. He mentions his insecurity when among family and friends afraid they will ridicule him.  The LGBTQ community will embrace him but he knows that isn’t right either so where is he to turn? Is there HOPE for someone like him?  This video reveals an Amazing journey of courage to find truth, love and acceptance.

YES, there is HOPE for you and that is why we are here.  Reach out to us and we will pray with you and connect you to someone who cares. Someone who has already been through the journey and will help each step of the way.  It is a challenging journey but so worth it as you will find your purpose and the true love from the one who created you as He Loves you Very Much!

Sweet Holy Spirit

Sweet Holy Spirit

Sweet Holy Spirit, You reveal the deep things of God to me. You lead me, you fill me with joy, you teach me what to say, and you are Truth. Holy Spirit, you give me instructions, you give me Power when you come upon me, and you cause me to speak the Word of God boldly. You encourage me, as I speak you may fall on those who hear and they may be filled with you. You send me, you keep me from going somewhere that I should not, even if it is to preach. You warn me, you pour out and shed God’s love in my heart, you give me joy, you cause me to overflow with hope, and you sanctify me.

My body is your temple, you cause me to say, “Jesus is Lord”, you make fellowship for me with Father God and Jesus. You are my seal, you reveal things to me, you help me to guard the good deposit within me. You caused me to be saved by your renewal in me, and you show me things. You testify to me about things of God, You could carry me away to a mountain great and high. You are wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, fear and awe of the Lord. You will gather us, you can give me rest and you could come into me and raise me to my feet or lift me up. You can move me to follow God and cause me to walk in your statutes. I don’t need might or power, I need your Spirit. You give life to me, You are Truth that comes from my Father. You can give me wisdom as I speak, You can tell me things, You could suddenly take me away to another geographic place. I can be compelled by your to do something and I can urge other people by You. My mind can be governed by You and I will have life and peace.

There is another realm that You are in and You give me life. You will quicken my mortal body because you live in me, You give me the ability to put to death the misdeeds of my body. I can be led by You, I can cry Abba Father because of You. You testify with my spirit, You help me in my weakness and you intercede for me. You can give me Power of signs and wonders, You search all things, You know the thoughts of God because you are from God and You cause me to understand what God has freely given me. I can be taught by You, I can discern things through You, You cause me to be washed, justified and sanctified in Jesus. You will give me gifts and there are manifestations of You. You could give me the gift of wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miraculous powers, prophecy, distinguishing of spirits, and tongues and interpretation. I can eagerly desire Your gifts.

You are given to me to drink. I can utter mysteries. I can praise God in You, You are in my heart as a guarantee. You are the Lord and where You are there is Freedom. I received you by believing what I heard, not by works because I received you by faith. You cause me to eagerly wait by faith for righteousness. You cause me to walk by You. I can be led by You. You produce fruit in my life. This fruit is Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Gentleness and Self Control, and Faithfulness.

You grant me wisdom and revelation so I can know God better. You give me access to the Father. The church is a dwelling where God lives because of You. You can strengthen me with Power. You are a sword, I can pray in You, You give me provision, You cause me to serve God and give me the ability to serve God. You give me wisdom and understanding. You do a sanctifying work in me. You have given me a Spirit of Love, of Power and of a sound mind!

Amazing Love Event

Amazing Love Event

God’s Glory Shines at the Amazing Love Event

We experienced an outpouring of God’s love and power at our last Amazing Love Event. After two years of faithful prayer, and with a team of dedicated volunteers, two worship bands, and a professional production team, God moved in a mighty way. Over 40 individuals shared their testimonies of Christ’s transforming love and power. Participants shared their stories of God’s faithfulness to walk with His people through issues of sexual abuse and addiction, same sex attractions, homosexuality, pornography, promiscuity, prostitution, and distortions of gender identity. Enjoy these highlights from our 2016 event!

We have received so many compliments and encouraging words from those who attended.  Here are just a few of them:

I was moved in so many ways that day; from the power of the Holy Spirit moving in every single person that presented; it was clearly evident that anything is possible with Jesus Christ. Thank you for your commitment to helping people find Christ and sharing your love of Him with others. I know people’s lives were changed forever.

I was extremely blessed by the Amazing Love Event and I’m so glad that I attended! I learned a lot and I believe the tools that I receive will better help me minister to individuals struggling in these areas of weakness. I would like to encourage you and your team to keep pushing this message of freedom in Christ Jesus, it is greatly needed and you all do an amazing job in the way you present it!

I really enjoyed today. I learned a lot which will help me on my journey. I do not feel so alone now. Thank you for everything you do. I will look into living waters.

I believe that so much more happened on that day than we know.  I do not know all that God has planned from here, but I do believe Sept. 24th was only the beginning. We were there for SO MUCH MORE! ~Dee Barnes
