His Wonderful Works brings hope, healing, and freedom in Christ to those dealing with family relationships in the area of sexuality. We also work alongside ministries and churches who help those struggling with gender, identity and sexuality.
What We Believe
Statement of Faith
We believe in God almighty, the Creator of all things, existing eternally in three equal persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who are in such close relationship they are one.
We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God, the final authority for truth, doctrine, correction, and instruction in right living.
We believe man is created in God’s image to live in holiness and relationship with his/her Creator, but alienated from God because of our sin and guilt, and justly subject to God’s wrath.
We believe in Jesus Christ, born of the virgin Mary, fully human and fully God, lived a sinless life but tempted in every way, who assumed the judgment due sinners by dying in our place, and was bodily raised from the dead and ascended as Savior and Lord.
We believe in justification by God’s grace to all who repent and put their faith in Jesus Christ for salvation.
We believe in the indwelling presence and transforming power of the Holy Spirit, who gives to all believers a new life and a new calling to obedient service and a joy filled life.
What We Believe
Human Gender, Identity, & Sexuality
We believe that God created man and that He created them male and female. As such, He created them equal in value, dignity, and worth, but different so as to complement and complete each other. God instituted monogamous marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. (Genesis 1:26-27, 2:18-25; Matthew 15:18-20, 19:4-6; John 4:16-18; Romans 1:18-32; 1 Corinthians 5:11, 6:9-11, 6:18-20, 7:1-5, 8-9; Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 5:3-7; 1 Timothy 1:9-11; Hebrews 13:4).
We believe that marriage is exclusively the uniting of one adult genetic male and one adult genetic female and that legitimate, intimate sexual activity is exercised solely within this definition of marriage.
We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of marriage. Hence, sexual immorality such as, but not limited to, adultery, fornication, pre-marital sex, incest, polygamy, homosexuality, transgenderism, bisexuality, cross-dressing, pedophilia, and bestiality are inconsistent with the revealed will of God in the Holy Bible. Further, lascivious behavior, the creation, viewing, and/or distribution of pornography and efforts to alter one’s physical gender or gender related appearance are incompatible with a true Biblical witness.
Homosexuality (whether in practice or identity), as well as other sexual addictions, is against God’s plan for mankind.
True, lasting life change is possible, but requires a life-long commitment to Christ and the process of healing and transformation.
We believe gender development, whether homosexual or heterosexual (or other variances), occurs as a part of a child’s early developmental process, between healthy relating with one’s own gender, starting with his or her parents, then further developing or further hindered in sibling, familial and peer relationships.
We believe that leaving sexual sin, including homosexuality, is about becoming a man or woman in Christ, not merely stopping this or that behavior.
Meet the Team
Ashley Little
Executive Director
Ashley’s life was radically transformed in 2002 when she had a powerful encounter with Jesus that brought freedom from life long battles with sin, including homosexuality. Since then, God has led her on a journey of healing and transformation, showing that nothing is impossible with God. Ashley has spent over two decades serving in missions and equipping and building up the body of Christ to walk in wholeness spirit, soul and body.
Ashley is an authentic and dynamic communicator who connects with others through her real-life experiences and a deep passion for God’s truth. She thrives on thinking outside the box and trusting God for the impossible.
In 2020, Ashley joined His Wonderful Works, where she continues to share her passion for exalting Jesus and inspiring a generation to love Him wholeheartedly, walk in truth, and boldly live out the gospel.
Melinda Patrick
Director of Parent Support
As Director of Parent Support for His Wonderful Works since 2013, host of the award-winning podcast, The Bridge Between Us: Loving Your LGBTQ-identified Child Without Compromising Truth, and author of The Daring Rescue: Joining Jesus Christ In His Pursuit Of Your LGBTQ-Identified Child’s Heart, Melinda Patrick has been able to minister to many families with children and loved ones who have embraced an LGBTQ identity. Having a daughter involved in the LGBTQ community for over 12 years, Melinda knows what it is like to grieve the choices our loved ones have made and understands the helplessness when things aren’t as we had hoped. Through her healing journey and the healing relationship with her daughter, she is passionate about emboldening and equipping parents to join Jesus Christ where He is at work in their life and family.
Along with meeting families one-on-one, Melinda has had the opportunity to speak life into the lives of many families through radio, TV, podcast interviews, and guest blogging. She is an international speaker who speaks at family conferences, church ministry events, and parent groups to equip families and the church to love well while not compromising Truth.
